at-home ombre hair
these photo booth pictures and weak lighting aren’t doing my superb dye job any justice but anyhow… these are the results of my DIY ombre hair test. before my hair was a single-tone dark brown last dyed maybe 8 weeks ago. I used manic panic’s lighting bleach kit to strip color from the ends. I basically just globbed bleach into my hands (rubber gloves) and worked my fingers into my hair starting at the bottom and working my way up. I applied the bleach more generously at the tips whereas toward the top I just combed it in lightly to create the ombre effect.
in real life lighting the results are lighter and more of an actual gradient than it looks here. I do think it needs another process though because anytime you bleach brown hair it has a tendency to come out more brassy than true blonde. stay tuned.
note my excellent Vanna White skills in photo 2 featuring a walk-on cameo from Miles. that last photo is just my PSA advocating for everyone to go get their flu shot. I had mine this morning. no swine flu for this gal.
UPDATE: AFTER 3-4 BLEACH PROCESSES IT LOOKED LIKE THIS:
