Full disclosure, I’m not actually wearing this outfit today but I did wear it last week. It’s not that exciting but there are a couple small details worth talking about here. I’ve been wearing nothing but black blazers lately and decided to add a little flair to one of them by putting some gold studs on the lapels, a very easy DIY. And did you notice my Garage magazine gift in action? Can’t thank them enough for sending me this beauty.

My crown ring (worn layered with Lulu Frost Code ring) is a newly acquired item. When my dad found an old savings bond given to me by my late grandfather in 1989 I decided that I would cash it in and buy myself a ring as if it were a gift from him that I could treasure forever.

since I sort of slacked on answering this question when it first came in, your event may have already happened so I hope it worked out well for you! my best answer is to do exactly what you’re doing/did - try wearing wedges first. wear them around your house for a bit to practice until you feel comfortable enough to wear out. strengthen up those ankles.

An all black outfit might seem like an easy answer on late mornings but it’s important to pay attention to texture and fabric to keep from looking flat. Instead of wearing black jeans with a jersey top try mixing things up with leather, silk, chunky knits, sheer fabrics and more.

Today I’m wearing satin leggings, a sheer tank layered over a jersey one, a poly blazer and leather booties. And what goes better with black than gold? A few simple accessories to top things off.
